What is the tour like?
🌳 Our beginner’s birding tour takes you through the beautiful pine-oak forests of San Cristóbal, where you'll have the chance to spot some of the rarest and most stunning birds in all of Mexico. 🐦⬛
It's a relaxed, guided experience designed for those new to birdwatching, with a focus on enjoying nature and learning along the way.
What’s the itinerary?
🌄 Every Saturday We begin at 6:15 AM to catch the early morning activity of the wildlife, giving us the best chance to see a variety of birds and animals.
The 15-minute drive takes us from San Cristóbal to the reserve entrance.
We’ll hike 2 km uphill to the viewpoints, where you’ll be rewarded with stunning views and great birdwatching opportunities.
We hike back down and are back in the centre of San Cristobal for midday.
Will I get binoculars?
🔭Yes! We’ll provide you with binoculars and show you how to use them, so you can spot and enjoy the wildlife.
What will we see?
🐦 Along the way, we have the chance to see 6 species of hummingbirds including the Wine-throated Hummingbird, the Pink-headed Warbler, Mountain Trogon, Blue-throated Motmot, many species migrating from North America, plus orchids, lizards, butterflies, and much more!
How much does it cost?

What should I bring or wear?
Comfortable walking shoes.
A hat and sunscreen to protect from the sun.
A camera if you’d like to capture the beauty of the forest!
